Tycho of Penny Arcade said this today:The conditions must be right to enjoy it. We knew what those conditions were, and undertook measures to create them. He's talking about a video game, but damn. That is some crucial shit for all game players. What are the necessary play conditions for your current game? Are you creating the conditions you need to play?
Also, Mike Mearls said this on his Live Journal:
Both Agon and Burning Empires were held up at work today as examples of the cool RPG stuff at GenCon.Where "work" equals "Wizards of the Coast D&D Development Team." OMG. Awesome. He goes on to say, "The Forge booth was (accurately) identified as, 'This is the place to look for cool new games.'" And he's right. I bought 14 new games at the Forge booth alone, and they are all wonderful.

Philip says:That is awesome, indeed. I'm interested to see what WotC does in reaction to the work being done by the Forge community.

If any.
It might be cool, but let's face it, they still sell more doing what they're doing. Reasons be damned.
John Harper says:
Mike Mearls' d20 game Iron Heroes is definitely a step in the right direction, IMO. I hope the future incarnation of D&D can steal from games like that (and maybe a dash of Agon, too).

Hey, Johh, Dave Turner here.
Don't want you to think that I've forgotten about posting an Agon Actual Play to the Forge. I will get to it, you just have to be a bit patient. Life be crazy at the moment. :)
Brand Robins says:
Awesome!
I've ordered Agon, but won't get a chance to actually look at the book until Christmas. Let me tell you, I'm really looking forward to it.
