Fightin' Robots
Tuesday, January 09, 2007
Apparently, the Germans used remote-controlled micro tanks (called Goliaths) during WWII. Somehow I had never heard of these until they appeared in Company of Heroes. According to Wikipedia, they weren't all that effective, but dang... fighting robots! The Russians also used radio-controlled full-size tanks in Finland.
The next WWII game I run is definitely going to have some robots.

Saturday Movie Matinee says:Looks kinda photoshopped.
But true or not, WWII robots sound solid to me.
John Harper says:
Oh ye of little faith!
They were real.
Chris Bennett says:
As usual the Germans took the technically complicated road. The Russians simply strapped explosives to dogs and sent them running for German tanks.
